The Delta state police command has arrested two suspects involved in the business of gun running, in the Delta community of Okpanam.

The command in a statement by its spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to Galaxy news, said the suspects Ekene Chioma and Jonathan Okafor were arrested in a sting operation through credible intelligence by operatives of the commissioner of police special squad led by ASP Julius Robinson.

According to the police, two English single barrel guns with one hundred and ten live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

Other items include a locally fabricated Baretta pistol loaded with two rounds of live ammunition as well as a locally made guns with eight live cartridges.

The Delta police commissioner CP Olufemi Abaniwonda expressed appreciation to members of the public for always assisting the police through credible information, while assuring the citizens of a safer Delta state.
